A PLACE TO START

Wording you can make your own

Replace the bracketed details with your own. Keep the lines that fit your celebration.

A warm, classic shower

A little one is on the way! Please join us for a baby shower honoring [name]. [Date] at [time] [Place] Hosted by [host]. Please RSVP by [reply date].

Use the honoree’s name or names exactly as they’d like them to appear.

Celebrating both parents

Let’s shower [names] with love! Join us for good company and a celebration of their growing family. [Date] · [time] · [place] Please RSVP by [reply date] and include everyone in your party.

Make the guest list clear rather than relying on a label like “couples shower.”

A small baby sprinkle

A little sprinkle of love for [name]. Let’s gather for [brunch / afternoon tea] as we welcome a new little one. [Date] at [time], [place] Please let [host] know by [reply date] if you can join us.

Mention the meal or refreshments only if you’re planning to provide them.

An optional book request

Help us build baby’s first bookshelf! If you’d like, bring a favorite children’s book with a little note inside. Your company is what matters most. We can’t wait to celebrate with you.

Use this as an optional note alongside the date, place and RSVP details.

Before you send

  • The name or names of the people being celebrated.
  • Date, start time, venue and host.
  • Who is invited and how to reply.
  • Optional registry or gift notes, shared with the honoree’s agreement.

A few helpful answers

Do I need to mention the baby’s sex?

No. “A little one is on the way” or “Celebrating a growing family” works without sharing that detail.

How do I include a registry?

Keep it optional: “If you’d like to bring a gift, [name]’s registry is at [registry link].” Put it in the guest note, with the celebration details first.

Can I write the invitation without a baby’s name?

Yes. Name the person or people being celebrated and leave out any details they haven’t chosen to share.
